Ḥāʾ — Hajj, the highest wish; in it is ṭawāf around the Kaʿbah

Khāʾ — bread at the seller's; only the hungry eats it

قَامَ يَصِيحُ فَوْقَ الْبَيْتْ
Dāl — a rooster with a fine voice, crowing atop the house

Dhāl — a wolf, a fierce beast; only the dog dares it

يَحْفَظُ أَمْنِي لَا يَنْسَانِي
Ḍād — an officer guards my homeland, keeps my safety, never forgets me

فَهُوَ نَظِيفٌ حَسَنُ الشَّكْلْ
Ṭāʾ — a child, the finest child, clean and handsome

ظَاءٌ ظُفْرٌ نَظَّفْنَاهْ
طَالَ قَلِيلًا فَقَصَصْنَاهْ
Ẓāʾ — a nail we cleaned; it grew a little, so we trimmed it

تَشْهَدُ خَيْرًا فِيهِ رِضَاهْ
ʿAyn — an eye that fears Allah Most High, witnessing good that pleases Him

فِيهِ أُنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنْ
Ghayn — a cave, the cave of Ḥirāʾ, where the Qur'an was revealed
